FAQ
Practical answers about setup, off-grid operation, venues, events, safety and booking a callback.
OG Sauna Co brings the wood-fired sauna to your site, sets it up, and talks through the practical details with you in advance. For most enquiries, the first step is a short callback so we can understand the site, access, date, guest numbers and whether the setup is a good fit.
Yes, the sauna is designed as an off-grid experience. It is wood-fired and built for outdoor settings where a conventional spa setup would not make sense. We still need to confirm access, positioning and basic site safety before agreeing a booking.
The sauna has 12V LED lights throughout and is heated entirely by wood, so mains power is not needed for the sauna itself. It works best at venues with a water source, toilets and showers available. A fuller off-grid setup can be discussed if needed.
Water requirements depend on the booking and the experience being offered. If the sauna is being paired with cold-water swimming, a lake, lido or safe dipping area may already be part of the venue. For each site, we will discuss water access, safety and guest flow before confirming details.
We need enough room to position the road-towable sauna safely, keep the entrance and stove area clear, and allow people to move around without crowding. The exact space depends on the site, so we check this during the enquiry rather than guessing from a single measurement.
We need safe access for delivery, setup and collection, plus a suitable place to position the sauna. Before confirming, we will ask about ground conditions, vehicle access, parking, space, guest movement and any site restrictions.
Yes. The sauna is delivered on a trailer and can be towed to site. Once there, it can be moved on site to find the right location for access, guest flow and safety.
The sauna fits 8-10 people inside at a time. For larger bookings, around 15-20 people can rotate in and out comfortably, depending on the session timings and setup.
That depends on the venue or event. Some bookings work best as private sessions; others suit timed slots, small groups or a simple booking flow managed with the venue. The important thing is that people know when to arrive, how long they have, and where to go next.
The sauna is wood-fired, so stove position, heat management, clear space, guest behaviour and site conditions all matter. We discuss the setup before confirming and will not force the sauna into a site where it does not make practical sense.
If access, ground conditions, positioning, guest flow or stove safety are not right, we will say so before confirming a booking. A calm, well-managed setup matters more than forcing the sauna into the wrong place.
Yes, campsites and glamping sites are one of the strongest fits. The sauna can work as a guest experience, a seasonal add-on, a weekend feature or a venue partnership. The key questions are access, guest flow, safety and how the experience will be booked or managed.
Yes. A wood-fired sauna pairs naturally with cold-water swimming, open-water venues and watersports sites. The setup works best where guests already understand outdoor water experiences and where the venue can manage safe access to the water.
Yes, subject to the right site, access and operating model. The sauna could support wellness areas, hospitality, private event spaces or artist and crew use. Festival and event enquiries need early discussion so logistics and safety can be planned properly.
Yes. Private sauna hire can work for birthdays, retreats, garden gatherings, small events and outdoor celebrations. Send the date, location, guest numbers and what you have in mind, and we will advise whether the setup is suitable.
Yes, where the setting suits it. Corporate wellness sauna hire can work for team wellbeing days, retreats and off-sites. It is more grounded than a generic indoor session, but the practical site details still need to be right.
The first step can be a simple trial day or weekend. If it works well for the site and guests, we can then look at recurring dates, seasonal bookings, revenue-share models or private-hire packages.
A venue might sell sauna slots as an add-on, package sessions with stays, run special weekends, or use the sauna to increase dwell time and shoulder-season appeal. We need to understand your existing booking process before suggesting the right model.
Yes, the build-pack idea is planned for later. It will be aimed at people who want a practical, real-world guide to building a wood-fired sauna, including materials, insulation, ventilation, stove considerations and off-grid details. For now, people can join the mailing list on the home page.
